Described as white but it is more like the typical cream color you see in linen items. Somewhat see through but not totally sheer, it is also sturdy. Lets light show through from a window on the back side and makes the maple leaves look very pretty. It is definitely priced well in comparison to other Noren I have seen. I am very happy with this item.
