Beautiful and heavier than you would expect, the fabric has a sueded effect and blocks most of the light. The attached sheer is dark brown like the spots and does NOT have the matching giraffe pattern as shown in the picture. The brown sheer is pretty but is just a plain brown sheer with no pattern. I'm in a rental with plastic blinds behind the curtains, which let a lot of light in around the sides. With these curtains over the blinds it is pretty dark in my bedroom even at noon. The fabric around the top edges shows a bit of fray in a few spots but nothing major or that noticeable except to those with a very critical eye. I love the pattern and feel these are a great value. The tie backs are a slightly different color than the curtains and the fringe is thin, just a few rows over a hollow center, but still useful and they look fine. I have the matching comforter and am enjoying the cheerful vibe of this pattern.
